What happens when you call
A person answers. We ask what the system is doing (not cooling, not running, leaking, noisy, tripping the breaker), how old it is if you know, and whether it's a house, a condo or a business. Then we tell you when a technician can realistically get there. If we can't get to you soon enough, we say so on that call instead of booking you and going quiet.
Before you call, do the two-minute checks in AC not cooling: the thermostat, the filter, the breaker and the outdoor unit. Sometimes that's all it is, and we'd rather you didn't pay for a visit you didn't need.
The repairs we see most in South Florida
- Failed capacitor. The most common summer failure. Heat and power surges wear capacitors out, and the outdoor fan or compressor won't start. A quick, common repair.
- Clogged condensate drain. Our humidity feeds algae in the drain line. The float switch shuts the system off, or water ends up on the ceiling or the closet floor. See AC leaking water.
- Refrigerant leak. Refrigerant doesn't get used up, so low refrigerant means a leak. We find and fix the leak rather than just topping it up every summer.
- Frozen evaporator coil. Usually airflow (a dirty filter or a failing blower) or low refrigerant. See frozen AC coil.
- Contactor, fan motor or control board failures, often after lightning or a surge.
- Salt corrosion on coastal outdoor coils, which shows up years earlier within a few miles of the water.
Diagnosis, then a written price
A technician finds the actual cause (not just the symptom), explains it, and gives you a flat price in writing. No hourly meter. If the fix changes once the system is open, work stops and you get a new price before anything else happens. You can say no at any point.
We'll also tell you if the system isn't worth repairing. An old R-22 system that needs a compressor or a coil is usually better replaced, and we'll say so, but we won't push a replacement on a system that has years left in it.

What sets the repair price
Which part failed, how accessible it is, and whether the refrigerant circuit has to be opened. A capacitor is at the low end; a compressor or evaporator coil is at the high end. The full explanation is in what AC repair costs, and you'll always have the number in writing before work starts.
