What makes AC work in Hollywood different
Hollywood spans the full South Florida spectrum in about six miles. Hollywood Beach is direct oceanfront with the corrosion to match. Hollywood Lakes holds 1920s-40s historic homes. Emerald Hills is 1960s-70s single-family on larger lots. And Hillcrest is a large age-restricted condo community with its own association rules. One city, four genuinely different AC conversations.
Hollywood neighborhoods and what they need
Housing stock, association rules and equipment access change from block to block. This is what we plan for before we quote.
- Hollywood Beach ZIP 33019
Direct oceanfront. The heaviest salt corrosion in Broward — coastal-grade equipment is not an upsell here, it is the correct spec.
- Hollywood Lakes ZIP 33020
1920s-40s historic homes. Ductless retrofits are common to avoid cutting into original ceilings and plaster.
- Emerald Hills ZIP 33021
1960s-70s single-family on larger lots. Original ductwork and long runs to the far bedrooms.
- Hillcrest ZIP 33021
Age-restricted condo community. Association approval, scheduled access and equipment specification requirements.
- Driftwood / Boulevard Heights ZIP 33024
1950s-60s modest homes. Electrical capacity is the usual constraint on a modern system.
- West Hollywood / Pembroke border ZIP 33023
1960s-70s stock, inland, no salt exposure but long summer runtimes.
The four issues we plan for in Hollywood
- Severe oceanfront corrosion on Hollywood Beach outdoor units, where standard coils fail years early
- Historic 1920s-40s homes in Hollywood Lakes where conventional ductwork cannot be run without damaging original finishes
- Hillcrest and similar association communities requiring approval, scheduled access and specified equipment
- Original ductwork in 1960s-70s Emerald Hills and Driftwood homes leaking conditioned air into hot attics
Who permits AC work in Hollywood
City of Hollywood Building Division, with Broward County product approval. Hollywood is in Broward County, part of Florida's High-Velocity Hurricane Zone, so outdoor units and their tie-downs must carry product approval for the zone.
Florida requires AC repair, replacement and refrigerant work to be done by a state-licensed air-conditioning contractor. Ask any company quoting your job for its CAC license number and whether the permit is included in the price. Ours is included, and we'll give you the license number in writing.
